Vintage Handwoven Fine Patterned Ramie Capeline - 12"

When we discovered these our mouths dropped - they are so divine!

Made from super fine natural undyed ramie sisal, each one is unique because they were handwoven. It would have taken several hours (if not days) to make this sort of capeline, and we estimate they date back to at least the 1970's but could be far older.

Available in three patterns, and trust us, you will want at least one of each!:

Arrow: An allover pattern with see-through arrows dashed throughout.
Floral Crown: See-though fishnet weave at the side crown with solid flower motifs. This design has a solid top crown and an interesting striped brim weave.
Cheveron Flower: A see-through fishnet weave with bold, graphic flower-like cheveron shapes.

Capeline measures:
Flat measurement from crown tip to brim: 30.4cm (12 inches)
Brim width from side crown to brim edge: Between 11-12cm (4.3-4.7 inches)

Expect some slight variation is size, colour and weave as each one is truly unique!

*Please note that this is not a finished hat but the 'body' to make one from scratch.*

Petershams Guide to hat bodies:
Cone: This is the perfect size for most fascinators and for blocking out hat crowns.
Flares: This is the size inbetween a cone and a capeline, so good for hats with smaller brims or larger fascinators.
Capelines: This is the largest hat body, great for wide brimmed fitted hats.
