Slightly Imperfect Diagonal Fine Vent Vintage Ecuador Panama Straw Capeline Hat Body - 12"

Oh boy! True Ecuador Panama straw capelines are a thing of beauty. Often used in high-end millinery, these capelines made from toquilla straw are known for their breathability and ability to bounce back into shape. It often took days for a skilled weaver to complete even just one capeline. They really are special.

We obtained a few of these beauties from a long-time hat manufacturer in England. These examples date to the 1980s-90's and we are so happy to share them with you! 

This hat body features a fine diagonal line open vent detail. Slightly imperfect due to a small scuff on top mid-brim, we have priced this capeline accordingly to reflect this damage.

Capeline measures:
Flat measurement from crown tip to brim: 12 inches
Brim width from side crown to brim edge: 11cm

*Please note that this is not a finished hat but the 'body' to make one from scratch.* 

This is a one-off factory find. Once it's gone, it's gone!

Cone: This is the perfect size for most fascinators and for blocking out hat crowns
Flares: This is the size in between a cone and a capeline, so good for hats with smaller brims or larger fascinators
Capelines: This is the largest hat body, great for wide brimmed fitted hats
