Antique 1920's Millinery Velvet Fabric - 1/2m
If you are into making flowers from scratch in the traditional methods then boy oh boy do we have something for you - original 'millinery velvet', produced specifically for the industry is not just lush, but incredibly rare.
Dating to the 1920's, this fabric has a plush velvet top pile and a stiffened back which lends itself beautifully for cutting petals and leaves from.
Conditon: Over 100 years old, this fabric is mostly in good condition but it is vital to know that lighter tones will very likely have colour varience and foxing in places. Ivory is especially prone to these.
Colour Notes:
Mushroom: This colourway has bleachy tones splotches throughout, we believe this is in intentional dye technique to create varience which will reslt in lovely gradient petals.
Sage Green: Expect some lightening in places that come through as rust coloured streaks and dots. Whether this was an intentional dye process or aging we do not know but it is glorious!
Fabric measures between 94-97cm (37-38") wide and is provided in half metre lengths which is 50x92cm (19.6"x37-38"). Multiple lengths purchased will arrive as one long continuous piece.
