Plain Weave Vintage Ecuador Panama Straw Capeline Hat Body - 11.5"

Oh boy! True Ecuador Panama straw capelines are a thing of beauty. Often used in high-end millinery, these capelines made from toquilla straw are known for their breathability and ability to bounce back into shape. It often took days for a skilled weaver to complete even just one capeline. They really are special.

We obtained a few of these beauties from a long-time hat manufacturer in England. These examples date to the 1980s-90's and we are so happy to share them with you! 

This one is the an absolute classic plain weave - you seriously can't go wrong in making this into a stunning summer hat. 

Capeline measures:
Flat measurement from crown tip to brim: 11.5 inches
Brim width from side crown to brim edge: 10cm

Colour Note:

Natural: This colour has a makers mark pen marking on inner crown noting size. Located where one would sew in a head ribbon this would be covered, but worth mentioning!
