Fringe Edge Toyo Paper Vintage Capeline Hat Body - 13"
Surprisingly robust, Toyo blocks easily, makes excellent summer hats and their smooth surface lends well to applying surface prints and even for painting onto! Dating to the 1970's, this capeline has a fringed edge with a nice big brim.
Toyo is a smooth Japanese rice paper which can be stiffened using straw stiffener or a PVA glue solution.
Flat measurement from crown tip to brim: 33cm (13 inches)
Brim width from side crown to brim edge: 10cm (3.9 inches)
Due to it's age there may be some very minor spots of foxing on these capelines. Nothing major, but worth noting!
*Please note that this is not a finished hat but the 'body' to make one from scratch.*
Petershams Guide to hat bodies:
Cone: This is the perfect size for most fascinators and for blocking out hat crowns.
Flares: This is the size inbetween a cone and a capeline, so good for hats with smaller brims or larger fascinators.
Capelines: This is the largest hat body, great for wide brimmed fitted hats.
