Imperfect Classic Weave Vintage Ecuador Panama Straw Capeline Hat Body - 11"
Oh boy! True Ecuador Panama straw capelines are a thing of beauty. Often used in high-end millinery, these capelines made from toquilla straw are known for their breathability and ability to bounce back into shape. It often took days for a skilled weaver to complete even just one capeline. They really are special.
We obtained a few of these beauties from a long-time hat manufacturer in England. These examples date to the 1980s-90's and we are so happy to share them with you!
This classic weave has banding around where the crown meets the brim. It does suffer from imperfections including some dark markings on the crown, pre-blocking and loss of colour on straw as shown. Priced to reflect these imperfections.
Capeline measures approx.:
Flat measurement from crown tip to brim: 28cm (11 inches)
Brim width from side crown to brim edge: 10cm (3.9 inches)

Cone: This is the perfect size for most fascinators and for blocking out hat crowns.
Flares: This is the size in-between a cone and a capeline, so good for hats with smaller brims or larger fascinators.
Capelines: This is the largest hat body, great for wide brimmed fitted hats.
