Vintage 1950's Navy Blue Semi-Panned Watermarked Sisal Capeline - 11"
Here we have the crème de la crème of capelines. Sisal is one of those chef kiss materials that are not really made anymore due to the sheer time that goes into each and every one of them.
This navy blue capeline was made in the 1950's (possibly even earlier) and has one of the finest weaves we have ever seen. It looks as though the capeline started to be panned (pressed with a flat iron) on the brim but was not finished. There is also some light markings on it which could be stiffener, but is very subtle.
This capeline would be absolutely stunning as an intricate blocked hat or headpiece.
